About What Food?
Nick Owen leads What Food, as well as running the Appetite for Knowledge seminar programmes. He has been involved with the food & leisure industry for over 10 years.
Nick is currently working with two leading fitness organisations in London - Central YMCA Club & Soho Gyms, providing a range of nutrition seminars, articles & website content, as well as offering 1:1 nutrition consultations.
Nick has run the 'Appetite for Knowledge' programme at Central YMCA gym for the last 4 years, as well as the 'Food for Fitness' programme at Soho Gyms.
January 2012 sees the launch of a revised & updated series of Appetite for Knowledge seminars, reflecting the changing thinking on foods & supplements, and an evaluation of how the media has such influence over our body image & self confidence.
Additionally Nick works with corporate clients & is involved with businesses in London's West End in a project to increase the awareness of food & exercise in the working environment, & its' impact on business, staff & team performance.
Prior to this, Nick's career to date included working with large retailers & restaurant businesses in food production & procurement; giving a great insight into how food reaches our shops and restaurants, from field to fork, and which aspects of the process are more in the interests of profit rather than our heallth & well-being.
